Designed by Riddles and built in 1955 at Darlington, this design was based on the popular Ivatt class 2, 2-6-0 'Micky Mouse'. Surviving less than 11 years, 78047 was withdrawn from 64A, St Margarets shed on 30.9.1966 and scrapped in January 1967 by Shipbreaking Industries, Faslane.
