old88.jpg) 67489 is seen at Hawick shed c early 1960s in the company of an unidentified J36. It is an ex-NBR C16. Built at Cowlairs in 1916 at the NBR's works in Glasgow. A Reid design, this loco lasted until withdrawal from Hawick Shed, 64G on 28.2.1961, probably not too long after this picture was taken.
Note the small snow ploughs on the ground next to the locos; these could be fitted easily by shed staff as required. Photo from Bill Lynn collection
