In August 2009 the north-western end of Hebden Bridge station’s down platform is delightful with its Victorian Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway signage, modern light fittings in the style used by the former London, Midland & Scottish Railway, and exuberant floral decoration. In the background the winding wheels of the disused hydraulic lift have been given a coat of cheerful red paint.
