Hebden Bridge station has become an important hub for commuters to major centres of employment in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Manchester. The station car park soon fills up, and this view south-eastwards along Burnley Road (A646) at midday on Thursday 6 October 2016 shows parked cars as far as the eye can see in the direction of Mytholmroyd. An estimated 764,000 passengers used Hebden Bridge station in 2014-15 (increased from 368,000 in 2004-05).
