Station Name: HESSAY

Hessay station, looking east in July 2013. The modern manually-operated crossing gate and the pedestrian gates are in the foreground with the low section of the former up platform and station buildings beyond. The exposed frame, locking the crossing and controlling the signals, is seen on the platform to the right of the far gate post. Since 1972 this section of the York–Harrogate line has been operated as a single-track route.
