Looking south from the Hooton Road overbridge in October 2009. The crushed stone path marks the site of the West Kirby branch. To the left would have been Hooton Station's platform 6 and to the right platform 7 both of which were used by West Kirby Branch trains. To the left of the picture can be seen the covered footbridge that once continued over to platform 7. The former platforms 4 and 5 are now the stations only platforms that are in frequent use as they serve the Merseyrail Wirral lines to Chester and to Ellesmere Port.
