The main station building at Hooton in April 1977 as seen from the station approach road. The 1970s was a low point in the history of Hooton Station. It had lost its main line services, was less important as a junction station and was served only by DMU services that ran between Rock Ferry and Chester and between Rock Ferry and Helsby.
