Station Name: KEMPSTON HARDWICK
Station still open but included for completeness

The crossing keeper’s cottage at Kempston Hardwick in the late 1960s. With the height of the platforms being raised c 1959 it is now at window cill level which would have given an unusual view of legs to anyone looking out. The building was very similar to those provided for level crossing gate keepers within the Woburn estate. It was built of yellow brick with red brick dressings. It had a steeply pitched roof with ornamental roof and ridge tiles (which have gone in this view).
