Station Name: KIDLINGTON

The former Kidlington station footbridge at Didcot North Junction on 31 March 2009 as a Class 66 hauled goods train passes beneath. The bridge had eventually been relocated to here following damage to the original caused by a derailment in 1964 but precisely when it was relocated is unclear as it was still at Kidlington in the autumn of 1965. The keen-eyed reader will notice the bridge deck had been extended and one set of stairs repositioned. The photographer is facing north and standing on a track leading into Didcot Yard, also the location of Didcot Railway Centre. The tracks to the left and right connect to the main line towards Swindon, left, and Didcot station and Paddington, right.
