Station Name: LITTLE MILL

[Source: Alan Young]

The access track to the former goods yard and whinstone quarry loading area is seen in May 2009, looking south from Little Mill level crossing. The installation in the foreground bears a sign ‘Littlemill’, whereas railway practice has been to use the form ‘Little Mill’. Beyond it the trackside sign for Little Mill Junction is visible referring to the crossovers between the up and down lines; both lines are signalled for bi-directional running. Also in the distance, on the far side of the main line, the preserved lime kiln can be seen.
