Looking east along Renalagh Street from an elevated position around 1930. Liverpool Central station can be seen to the right. In the bottom right corned the entrance to the Mersey Railway's Liverpool Central Low Level station can be seen. This was the main entrance to the Mersey Railway station but there was also an access direct from the concourse of the main line station. Trams belonging to the Liverpool Corporation Tramways can be seen travelling along Renalagh Street. Liverpool Central was the most conveniently placed major terminus in the city for the shopping district.
