Station Name: LIVERPOOL CENTRAL HIGH LEVEL

Looking down from the footpath link bridge that passed over Liverpool Central station at its southern end. The date was October 1953 and work was being carried out on the station's turntable widening its diameter so that it would be able to take larger locomotives. To the far right the first of four tunnels that carried the line up to Brunswick can be seen.
