Station Name: LIVERPOOL CENTRAL HIGH LEVEL

A two car class 108 DMU emerges from the Great George Street tunnel and heads into Liverpool Central station in 1971. Track rationalisation had already begun. The picture was taken from the southern end of Platforms 1 and 2. The train would have been operating on a Gateacre to Liverpool Central service. The turntable pit is to the left of the dmu in front of the alcove in the wall.
