Station Name: LIVERPOOL CENTRAL HIGH LEVEL

The timber-built CLC signal box at Liverpool Central as seen in 1971. The box was in a poor condition at this time. Investigations into an appalling smell within the box in 1971 by relief signalman P Willams revealed a dead rat in the fabric of an armchair that was used by signalmen. Such was the neglect that had set in by this time.
