Station Name: LIVERPOOL EXCHANGEexchange_old30.jpg) A two-car Derby built DMU leaves Liverpool Exchange station in April 1977 for either Bolton or Manchester Victoria. After the closure of Liverpool Exchange services on this route terminated at Kirkby. As part of the Merseyrail Loop and Link project, which saw Liverpool Exchange replaced by a new underground station, the former L & Y line from Walton Junction to Kirkby was electrified.
