Looking south into the trainshed at Liverpool Exchange station in September 1962 as a train departs. This Fairburn-designed 2-6-4, class 4 passenger tank was built for the fledgling British Railways in April, 1948 at Derby works. A modified Stanier design, it is seen here wearing a 24C, Lostock Hall shedplate where it stayed until Feruary 1964 when it was transfered to 10A, Carnforth. Withdrawn from that shed on 1.5.1965, it was cut up at Cashmores of Great Bridge in August of that year.
