Locomotive 45149 a Stanier Class 5MT (Black 5) locomotive lights up the gloom at Liverpool Exchange station one evening in March 1968. The engine was standing at platform 5. Liverpool Exchange station was the last major terminus in the UK at which steam traction was still deployed on
scheduled passenger services.
