Station Name: LIVERPOOL EXCHANGE

[Source: Paul Wright]

Two Class 502 LMS EMUs stand at Liverpool Exchange station in 1977. To the right an Ormskirk service waits to depart. Its indicator states that it will take the route via Kirkdale. At this time this was the only route it could take. The alternative route via Ford had lost its regular passenger services in 1951 and been de-electrified in the early 1960s. The EMU to the left had just arrived, as indicated by its red lights, probably on a service from Ormskirk.
