Station Name: LIVERPOOL EXCHANGE

Looking south towards Liverpool Exchange in April 1977 from a point that would have been beneath the electric lines that led into platforms 7, 8, 9 and 10. The platforms had been taken out of use in the mid 1970s and given over to facilitate the construction of the Merseyrail underground network, in particular the construction of Liverpool Moorfields station which would replace Liverpool Exchange. To the left, high above the photographer, can be seen Liverpool Exchange number 2 signal box.
