bridge_old10.jpg) Probably the last passenger carrying vehicle of any description to pass through Longton Bridge is seen in this view on the northern approach to Longton Bridge station in 1965. The 'driver' is a very youthful-looking Alan Castle. Note the appropriately correct reporting number being carried, although Preston Control Office were unlikely ever to become aware of this impromptu and quite unadvertised special working!
