Seen in April 2017 this Network Rail sign spells the place ‘Luddenden Foot’, the preferred Ordnance Survey version. The sign on the A646 entering the village from the east reads ‘Luddendenfoot’. Clearly there is still inconsistency in the rendering of the name!
