Station Name: LUDDENDENFOOT

Looking east near Luddendenfoot with an up passenger train at the water troughs. The loco is a Class 28; a rebuild from Class 27; the giveaway is the Belpaire firebox and larger sandboxes. She is No.12273 in full LMS livery. The picture predates February 1949, when she became British Railways No.52273. She has a freshly painted LMS shedplate on her smokebox door but unfortunately it is unreadable. She was withdrawn in October 1956.
