Station Name: MAIDEN NEWTON
Station still open but included for completeness

Looking south from the footbridge at Maiden Newton station in August 1933. The relatively large gap between the platforms is a reminder that the route was originally broad gauge. The station building is to the right on the northbound platform, and a waiting shelter with a small awning is on the other platform. Both buildings are of knapped flint with limestone quoins. The goods sidings are found beyond the signal box, and to the right of the through lines, where there is a substantial goods shed. This shed contained an ‘island’ platform with a single rail track on one side and covered road
access on the other. A small goods dock is seen at the end of the up platform.
