The eastern wall and ceiling of the mezzanine level within the Manors East tunnel system in March 2005. The oval shaped space in the roof which is marked on the map, which dates from the period between 1887 and 1909 before Manors North was opened. The oval was probably a sky-light which was filled when the new signal box was built over it. There are two areas of breeze blocks - that in front of the camera is the bottom of the steps up to platforms 7 & 8, while the modern wall to the left of the shot is the truncated subway towards Manors multi-storey car park and Croft Lane to the North.
