Station Name: MARCHWOOD

[Source: Nick Catford]

The junctions on the up side of Marchwood level crossing during April 2013. Visible lower left is the point rodding and bellcranks. Also visible are the two trap sidings and a similar arrangement exists at the Hythe end of the layout, this being necessary do the bidirectional nature of the two tracks through Marchwood station. One may wonder why there are five sets of point rodding yet only three sets of points; some change the points and some operate point locks and the gate interlock. In turn there are standard interlocks been gates, points and signals. Two of the rods can be seen on the far side of the tracks continuing to the points at the end of the loop. Contentedly sitting on the yellow box, left background, is a black cat.
