After withdrawal of the passenger service hauling the Marsden Rattler, one Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn 0-6-0ST tank engine was transferred to Boldon Colliery where its extra power was used to take bigger loads of coal to Tyne Dock Coal staiths. This is the Boldon Colliery loco passing through the Simonside area on the way from Tyne Dock to Boldon Colliery with empties in 1965.
