Melmerby North signal box on 4th March 1967, the last day of passenger service between Northallerton and Ripon. This had originally been the south box but was renamed Melmerby when the original north box was closed when Masham junction was resited to the south in 1913. It was renamed Melmerby in March 1942 when a new south box was built 1 1/2 miles to the south of the station to control access to the recently opened Ministry of Supply ordnance depot.
