Station Name: MICKLEHURST

A bridge abutment of the railway at Micklehurst survives at the junction of Cheshire Street and Crown Hill; this point is between the former goods and passenger stations. The distinctive blue engineering brick has been used in its construction, with repairs in red brick. The entrance to the former goods yard is to the left of the photographer and is now used by R Plevin & Sons (wood processing and recycling company). The industrial premises, ahead, where pallets are stacked was not previously railway land.
