Station Name: MILDENHALL

[Source: Darren Kitson]

Mildenhall station forecourt with goods shed in the distance in June 2006. If it were not for the absence of railway signs, including a patronising sign above the entrance bearing the name of a train operator and welcoming people to Mildenhall despite the fact they were about to leave, it would be easy to think the station was still open. The front of the gable above the entrance is missing, but then it had been missing for half a century at least. The fencing around the building is not original but it enhances rather than detracts.
