Station Name: MILDENHALL

A closer view of the east end of the goods shed in June 2006. The former rail entrance is now bricked up and becoming covered with ivy. The doorway is original and led into an office. Unlike station buildings along the branch which were of red brick, Mildenhall goods shed was largely of white brick which is actually a light creamy-yellow colour. Both types were - and still are - produced in East Anglia. Note the south wall of the shed has been buttressed; this was a post-closure contingency.
