 Layout of Murton station and goods yard in 1926. The lengths of the three platforms are shown; the two main line platforms and the Elvet platform are all 186 yards. Siding lengths are also shown with a total length of 886 yards. For some reason the goods shed is shown as a warehouse which is usually an American term. Note a reversal is required to reach both the goods shed and the cattle dock.
