Station Name: NORWICH CITY

[Source: Glen Kilday]

A siding extended for a few hundred yards south of Norwich City station, leaving the station on its east side and crossing Station Road before running alongside the River Wensum to end at New Mills Yard.  There a very short jetty extended into the river at its highest navigable point.  Although the jetty has long gone, two sets of rails went onto the jetty and the remains of both pairs can still be seen in May 2018. Anecdotal information suggests that, amongst other cargoes, locomotive ash from the engine shed was sent by river for disposal.
