A5 69817 is seen passing the Low Level station down goods c1953; the GNR corn warehouse is seen in the background. This Robinson-designed loco was built for the NER at Gorton works in August 1917 and was originally numbered 5373. It was renumbered to 9817 by the LNER with the ‘6’ prefix being added after nationalisation. It was withdrawn from Gorton shed in April 1960 and cut up at Darlington works the same month.
