Photo by Martin Potter Looking east from London Road bridge in October 2007. Compare with the 1976 picture from the same viewpoint. The locomotive stabling point seen in the middle distance in 1976 has become a depot. The GNR sidings and signal box have all gone as has the goods avoiding line on the right. A new road bridge crosses the scene behind the depot. The low level looks largely unchanged.
Photo by Pete Hackney from his Flickr photostream Despite being badly damaged by fire in 1996 the Grade II listed Low Level station building has been restored to a high external standard and has now found a new lease of life as a Virgin Active health club as seen in this view looking west in July 2014.

The external southern goods dock is now the only surviving platform complete with canopy and the lorry entrance into the goods shed. Being exterior parts of the building they form part of the Grade II listing.
