An ex-LNER 0-6-2T No.69464 waits in the down platform at Ovenden station with a Halifax train in the early 1950s. This Ivatt-designed N1 was built for the GNR and Doncaster works in 1912. It survived until August 1955 when it was withdrawn from Bradford Hammerton Street shed to be cut up at Doncaster works in August 1956.

Ovenden Station in January 1965. By this date the timber down platform had been largely demolished apart from a short section in front of the station building. A short section of the concrete up platform survives at this time and is seen here supporting a grounded goods van. In 1964 the station site was purchased by W H Hooper (Metals) Ltd as a base for their scrap metal business.
