The road bridge immediately east of Pallion station, looking north-east in summer 1982. It was commonly known as ‘Steels bridge’ because it carried a painted advert for Steels engineering works. By 1982 it had been repainted as ‘Coles Cranes’ .Although the bridge still exists all industry has long departed from Pallion, which used to be a heavy industrial centre. At first there was
a level crossing here.
