Station Name: PALLION (First site)

The exterior of Pallion station, looking west in October 1977, thirteen years after closure to passengers. The single-storey office and waiting room block is in the foreground, notable for its half-hipped roof – an architectural feature much used by the North Eastern Railway – and the simply decorated bargeboard on the gable beyond. It is in use as a building contractor’s office. The station
house is in the background.
