Pencader station looking south in July 1904. The M & MR engine shed is seen in the distance. The loco was built for the Manchester and Milford Railway in July 1870 by Sharp Stewart, in Manchester, works No 2036. Allocated the M&MR No 5, it passed to the GWR early in 1906 and was allocated, but never carried, the number 1340 and was withdrawn in August that year and scrapped.
