Looking west from the former platform 4 at Prestatyn station in 1979. Platform 4 had been taken out of use in the late 1960s when the former ‘up’ slow line that served it was removed. Standing at platform 3 is a Sulzer type 4 Locomotive (Class 45 Number 45 045) which would probably have been heading for the east side of the Pennines via Chester, Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Victoria.
