By 1983 the alignment to Dudley was becoming increasingly overgrown and the main lines had seen their final train and had been officially closed some 15 days previously.

A view from the same spot as the previous picture some 12 months later in the winter of 1984. The lifting of the main lines seems to have resulted in some clearance work on the site revealing the OWWR platform to Wolverhampton.
