Station Name: PURFLEET RIFLE RANGE
Thames quay immediately west of the gunpowder magazines c1969. The jetty (demolished when this picture was taken) rand across the inlet beyond the quay. A narrow gauge spur ran from the narrow gauge line running onto the jetty along the quay. What might be a narrow gauge line is seen close to the building. The quay also had a travelling crane which would also have been rail mounted. The possible position of removed rails can be seen on the left side. The site of the quay is is indicated on the map below.
