4.jpg) Looking northeast in March 2008 along what had been before 1966 the southbound platform at Rawtenstall Station. The platform's original southern end had been just behind the photographer and it had previously continued beyond the station building which was opened in 1992 and which sits across the trackbed. The former northbound platform was shorter that the southbound and its surviving section can be seen on the left.
