ROWSLEY SIDINGS

[Source: Paul Wright]

An unidentified Austerity lifts a train from the Up goods to the main line at Rowsley South Junction in June 1957. Part of the signalbox is on the extreme right. Beyond that is a train crew relief cabin put up in 1942, and the two railway cottages built in 1873. The relief cabin originally faced in the opposite direction, but was turned when a new toilet for the signalmen was erected adjacent to it.
