Station Name: ROWSLEY 1st SITE

Taken from a position close to the Grouse & Claret in March 1981, with the entrance to the Old Yard in the foreground. The original Station Master’s house and one of the £90 cottages built by the MBM&MJR in 1851 can be seen on the upper right (now Nos. 4 and 5 Midland Cottages). The station building is obscured by Lehane, McKenzie & Shand’s premises.
