This image is said to have been taken 'in the early 2000s' when the former industrial units on the site of the railway at Saffron Walden were being cleared away in preparation for residential development. The cleared area directly ahead of the camera was once the goods yard. It is now occupied by Jordan Close and Braybrooke Gardens with Weighbridge Court located at the junction of Station Road and Debden Road. Checks reveal the new properties began to be sold in 2000 so 'early 2000s' would seem a little late. This view is looking along Station Road towards Debden Road and the former station building is on the left, now divided into two houses. The blue sign on the right belongs to a motorists tyre and exhaust centre, immediately beyond which, but largely obscured in this view, is 'The Railway' public house. The origin of the names Braybrooke Gardens and Weighbridge Court are obvious but the origin of Jordan Close is not known.
