Station Name: SEVERN BRIDGE
Looking south west at the Severn Bridge station c1962 probably a few months after closure. At this time it was expected that the bridge would be repaired and the line would reopen. Prolific railway photographer John Smith (Lens of Sutton) always chalks the name of a station on the platform or on a board.

Looking north west towards Severn Bridge station in May 1964. Although the bridge behind the photographer has gone trains could still reach the station from Lydney although the weeds suggest there have been no trains for some time. The siding which closed in 1957 has been lifted, but the loading gauge is still in place.
