The only level crossings on the Facit Branch were at Tonge End, between Whitworth and Facit stations and at Thrum Hall Lane, between Shawclough & Healey and Wardleworth stations. The former was staffed whilst the latter was not. This view from June 2016 is looking south along Thrum Hall Lane, and the trackbed of the Facit Branch is crossing several yards ahead. The old concrete gateposts in the foreground will be noted – as will be the ubiquitous wheelie-bins in the background.
