Sidley signal box in the 1950s. It was originally intended that there would be a smaller box here. It contained a 20-lever frame and was manned by two shifts until around 1930. In later years it was unmanned until the arrival of a goods train. The box was then operated by the train guard while the loco shunted in the yard.
