The access from the rear of the street level building at Sidley station in the early years of the 20th century. The Pelham Hotel is seen on the opposite side of Ninfield Road. On the day of the Board of Trade inspection Major Pringle was taken to lunch at the Hotel Metropole at Bexhill while Mr English, the superintendent engineer of the works entertained eight members of the party at the Pelham Hotel.
