Station Name: SOUTH BANK (2nd site)

[Source: Alan Young]

Daylight is already failing by mid afternoon on 2 January 1973, and some platform lighting is still functioning on the down platform of South Bank station. As the station is unstaffed the lights are probably left on throughout the day. Details of the brick building, with its segmental-arched doors and windows, as well as the gothic columns, elaborate brackets and station roofing can be seen. In the background, beyond the sidings, the Cargo Fleet Steel Works complete the picture.
